The ENTRi certified CORE COURSE comprises theoretical inputs and practical exercises tailored to the realities in the field. All modules enhance interpersonal skills, highlight the importance of active involvement in the host society, and promote a reflective and critical approach. Junior professionals benefit particularly as they get the opportunity to reflect on their own mission readiness and motivation.
Modules include skills and knowledge in fields, such as concepts and strategies of peacebuilding, working in cross-cultural partnerships, conflict analysis, gender and social inclusion in peacebuliding, personal safety and more.
Practical exercises include for example map reading, navigation, driving, a mine trail and complex simulation exercises.
Faculty is drawn from a pool of resource persons who combine theoretical knowledge with extensive practical field experience.
Target Group
People working with national or international non-governmental organisations, international organisations, governments, the academic or private sectors who:
- want to prepare for field missions in post-conflict and crisis areas in countries other than their own, or in their own countries
- want to serve and/or are currently serving as multipliers in their own countries and communities, passing on knowledge and skills obtained in the course
Based on relevant expertise and experience, participants will be encouraged to work in groups on specific case studies to analyse the relevant conflicts, potentials for peace and create related project plans, which may be of meaning in their respective fields of work! Further mentoring by our faculty and ASPR-staff may be discussed throughout the course in case of implementation of such or similar plans.
Please note that the attendance of this course is a requirement to attend our master classes and specialisation courses! This requirement may only be waved on individual basis and consideration of similar related experience!
